Crystal Cities have released their latest take on moody Indie Rock in the form of new track, “Terrified of Your Love”. It will be the fifth single from their upcoming 10-track second album, Hold Me Close Hold Me Tight.
The song is emotive and moody without feeling lethargic. With soaring harmonies and an upbeat tempo, it allows the listener to simultaneously feel both the dread of the lyrics and the excitement of the music.
“‘Terrified of your Love’ is about the intense love I feel for my wife and kids and, at the same time, how terrifying that love is since I know that one day we will have to say goodbye when death ultimately tears us apart.”
- Geoff Rana (vocals/guitar/keys)
The Sydney-based Alternative Dream Rock band recently announced that they will be releasing their 10 track second album as individual singles. “We’ve worked so hard on each and every track on this album so why not let each one have it’s time in the spotlight rather than getting lost in the noise of an entire album release all at once.” said Crystal Cities bassist, Jared King.
Domestic and international tastemakers alike have had great things to say about the 4 singles already lifted off the album - “Don’t Speak Too Soon”, “Got My Back to the Wind”, “Shadow of a Doubt”, and “Jenny, How Were We to Know?”
“‘Jenny, How Were We to Know?’ shows again what the Aussies do best. Creating multidimensional pop tunes with an instant impact on your aural radar. Like little symphonies coming down to earth from a sky-high universe.”
- TURN UP THE VOLUME!
“...it’s another beautiful gem in an unbroken string of superb singles.”
- EclecticMusicLover
Once the release of each single is complete the band will re-package each song as one full body of work that will be their sophomore album, Hold Me Close Hold Me Tight.
All the 10 tracks that will feature on the album have been self produced by lead vocalist and guitarist, Geoff Rana, and mixed by world-renowned LA-based mix engineer Paul Lani (David Bowie, Prince, Megadeath). Rana and Lani have dealt fans a sharper and more hard-hitting Crystal Cities sound while still maintaining the signature ‘Dream Rock’ elements that they established in their 2019 debut Under the Cold Light of the Moon.
Crystal Cities are Geoff Rana (vocals/guitar/keys), Jared King (bass/backing vocals), and Daniel Conte (drums/percussion).
lyrics
Tryna’ keep my head above water
Tryna’ keep my lungs airtight
If this water gets much higher
Yeah, we can drown tonight
I can't find a reason to leave here
I’ve got a million reasons to stay
Now I have always loved you
These arms, they long to hold you
And I, I'm terrified
I’m terrified
I’m terrified
Terrified of your love
Terrified of your love
I would keep you here if I could
In these memories of gold
There’s chaos in the silence
My arms, they fail to hold
I can't find a reason to leave here
I got a million reasons to stay
Now I have always loved you
These arms, they long to hold you
And I, I’m terrified
I’m terrified
I’m terrified
Terrified of your love
Terrified of your love
Now I have always loved you
These arms, they long to hold you
And I, terrified
I’m terrified
I’m terrified
Terrified of your love
Terrified, terrified of (Your love)
Terrified, terrified of (Your love)
Terrified, terrified of (Your love)
Terrified, terrified of (Your love)
Terrified, terrified of (Your love)
Terrified, terrified of
Terrified of your love (Terrified, terrified, of)
Terrified of your love (Terrified, terrified, of)
Terrified of your love (Terrified, terrified, of)
Terrified of your love (Terrified, terrified, of)
